The Kenwood now has a website! http://www.geocities.com/kenwooddrivein
I’m still getting info and working all of the bugs out of it, and unfortunately it doesn’t have the bandwidth for pictures, but it shoud be completely up to date soon!
Now that it’s closed, This place is REALLY creepy looking at night! The fact that it is an all white building boarded up with white boards makes it look ghostly. I was driving past last night and noticed the “national amusements” sign in the side of the main building still works. You wouldn’t think it still had electricity!
It’s a shame this place got so run down before it closed. NA has 2 newer theaters in Louisville, but neither of them have the atmosphere that this one did.
I really wish national amusements would list the Kenwood on their website!! They have the Kenwood Center twin cinemas in Ohio (which is closed, so I don’t know why they have it on there anyway.) but not the Kenwood drive-in :(
I love the Georgetown!! It seems like I am there every weekend during the summer. This year was especially fun: there were several bands and car cruises, and the annual Halloween horrorfest was a blast!!
I remember going to the releases of the special edition Star Wars films when I younger. I also remember all of the HUGE windows that were everywhere! They would always paint movie characters on the windows at the entrance.
Thank you so much for mentioning my site in your article!! It has really helped people find it.

This theater is still owned by National Amusements. I believe the manager for the Kenwood is also the manager for the Showcase 16.
