Started working here in 1991 and was a manager from 1994 to 1997 along with the Cinema 21. Saw many films here starting with That’s Entertainment at 6 years old. Had my 10th birthday party here with Star Wars and vividly remember the line we had to wait in for a matinee. It definitely wrapped around the building!
The Center theatre was the Cinerama theatre for the valley. While both the Valley Circle and the Cinema 21 were originally equipped for it, I don’t believe any films were actually shown in the format. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I worked here from 1991 to 1997, and was a manager from 1994 – 1997. I’ve added a photo of the front of the theatre from the parking lot. (1995 – movie was SEVEN) I also have a large set of pictures from the 1992-1993 flood which I may post later. That flood was just as bad as the one in 1978, and I can confirm that Superman moved from here to the Loma theatre.
