UA Mall Cinemas-Cerritos (1975)
Sign of a different time, tickets were sold from an open-air, unconnected and round box office (right, background) within indoor Los Cerritos Center. As seen here, the exposed island-booth (which precariously even included a safe) was positioned in an un-gated foyer just outside the theatre’s lobby and front doors.
The theatre’s red, blue, yellow, and green color scheme was ubiquitous and was inspired by the old “punch & fold” ticket system. As pictured above, each color corresponded to one of the four auditoriums. In the days before computerized ticketing, admission was denoted not by movie titles printed on tickets but by auditorium number and color of one’s matching ticket.

I would kill to see more photos of this cinema. Love the auditorium signs!
