Kiva Theatre
The Kiva opened with “The Circus Queen Murder” on June 30, 1933 operating on a 20-year lease (first two ads) taking over a previous retail spot. Not wishing to sign another long term lease with the effects of television on cinema exhibition, the Kiva walked away with the westerns “Raiders of Sunset Pass” and “Cattle Town” (third ad) on March 29, 1953. They cleaned out their stuff on the next day and the space was reconverted for a long-lasting jewelry retail space.
