The biggest event for the Orpheum occurred in 1949 when the World Premiere of Tulsa was held – where else – in the city of Tulsa and the very large Orpheum Theatre. Star Susan Hayward was there, the governor held a bit dinner prior to the premiere, and Talbot Theatres was delighted with the huge turnout.
