Broadway Theatre
Arguably the most famous moment in the history of the Broadway Theatre was its evolution to multichannel audio called Fantasound for the premiere and road show of Fantasia. The Walt Disney specifications were so exacting that it had to handpick the theaters. Only 14 of the proposed 88 cities would play Fantasia properly as the film was not a success and the breakout of World War 2. It was said that much of the equipment you see in these photos would be scrapped for the war effort.
