Auditorium corner view. It can be seen that the capital of the pilaster in the corner seems to have been partially removed at some point. In the 1930s remodel, the flat, beamed auditorium ceiling which remained visible to the audience was simply repainted, and the curved coves were left alone, but the cornices of the coves and all plaster decorative frames on the walls were shaved off and smoothed, and the Deco paint scheme applied to the newly prepared surfaces. This is no longer a public area, and I was granted access only to record the decorations during recent construction.
