Nashville Fire Department firefighter Marlon Claiborne inspects the still smoldering ruins of the 1,200-seat auditorium of the 80-year-old Loew’s Vendome Theater Aug. 9, 1967. The theater was gutted and the roof caved in by flames that raged out of control from about 2 a.m. until 5 a.m.
