STIRLING ROGERS' MASTERPIECE News-Pictorial Perth, WA – Friday 28 September 1928, page 18.
The man who built the Ambassadors is Big Bill Rogers, broad-shouldered, enthusiastic and still a year short of thirty. When he’s not working long hours Bill is one of the boys, his cheery good nature having won him hosts of friends during the busy time he’s been in the West. I’d like to say,“ Big Bill remarked the other day, “how the foresight and courage of Sir Thomas Coombe made the Ambassadors possible. A man who spends £100,000 for the fulfillment of a dream in concrete is game. The handing over of the Ambassadors to Frank Marden (pictured) manager of the great organisation of Union Theatres is another tribute to his judgment.” – Contributed by Greg Lynch –
