A colorized post card aerial view similar to the one in David Owens Conneaut book. I have marked the 4 theatres. In his book David also mentions another theatre called the Republic which was located at 320 State Street. That location would be just west of McDonald’s Restaurant which is listed at 312 State St. In the 1929 Film Daily Yearbook there are 3 theatres listed for Conneaut. 1. LaGrande @ 500 seats, the Main @ 350 seats & the State @ 450 (no mention of the Ohio!). Interestingly enough the State gained 50 seats by the 1932 FD Yearbook listing. Probably after the remodeling when the organ & orchestra pit were taken out after sound came in.
