State Theatre
Colorized 1929 photo of the Louis XVI style State auditorium from the stage, showing the three seating levels originally licensed for: Stalls 1289, Mezzanine 414 and Dress Circle 872 with standing for 200 in the Stalls – a total capacity of 2775. Seats were covered with purple and grey moquette. The rear entry of the Mezzanine section (with the ‘best’ seats) is located conveniently at street level.
