This photo taken at Christmas 1955 shows the once popular display boards on the cinema are now unused. The large film presentation board to the right now has the name Gaumont, formally the Capitol. The rented shop to the left has a Christmas decorated window and always had tenants, unlike the rented display cabinets either side of the entrance, these were built for local shops to advertise their services but proved not to be very popular.
