This was to be the first cinema undertaken by the new Architectural Practice Leslie H. Kemp 1930. Very little of the previous Kingston Picture House survived the makeover, the owner Mrs L. Gardner decided to compete with the competition and gutted the entire building. The whole reconstruction including a new Balcony was carried out by Gaze’s of Kingston, Surveyors were Tasker & Sons, modern fibrous plaster interiors by Clark & Fenn, lighting by Springvale of Kensington and projection equipment by western Electric.
