The souvenir program for “No, No, Nanette” proclaims that the Regent is ‘A J.C. Williamson Ltd Theatre’ – not technically accurate, as they had just sold it to Mr. Fink – and a surprise to audience members who had been seeing Hoyts movies there for 45 years! ‘Nanette” opened 24th February 1973 and enjoyed a very respectable 16 week run, compared with the 2-4 week seasons of other live shows in the 1972-4 period. “Ballet Folklorico” opened 9th October 1972, and the Georgian State Dance Company 8th July 1974.
