Manchester Drive-In
From the April 14, 1941 issue of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Not my copyright, of course, and possibly in the public domain. I uploaded it here to illustrate a note I’d read elsewhere, that this drive-in’s early sound system consisted of “a concrete pillar with a sound box on it which provided sound for two cars.” The original caption:
AUTOMOBILE SERVICE - Worshippers sat in their automobiles at the Lutheran sunrise service at the Drive-In theater on Manchester road. The speaker was the Rev. O. J. Klinkermann of Brentwood.
