Façade of the Westover cinema photograph taken 1937 the narrow frontage disguises the large and impressive interior beyond. There was also a second entrance a short distance to the right in Hinton Road, which also gave entrance to the large Restaurant which provided an extensive A La Carte Menu open 10 a.m. - 11 p.m. The three signs above the main entrance viewed as approached from left, right or from the front through the famous pleasure gardens, which was fronted by a large fountain with various water displays, all illuminated at night and very popular during the summer in the 1930’s. Bournemouth was a very popular holiday destination until the late 1950’s.
