Plaza auditorium walls, ceiling and stage proscenium were designed in mind to be illuminated by Holophane Auto-Selective concealed colour lighting. The front black velvet curtains were also fitted by Holophane having a symmetrical design appliquéd on the curtains in various coloured fabrics which responded to the lighting in varying ways. Illumination of the auditorium was provided by two large glass tier fittings, which enabled all the decorative features within the cinema to display infinite varieties of colour combinations, both in relation to the stage and proscenium arch lighting. Projection and sound equipment were supplied and installed by British Thompson-Houston Ltd.
