Victory Theatre
In early 1951 the Corne Brothers, a Jewish movie exhibitor family from Cardiff (Wales), arrived in the Blue Mountains and took over the five cinema circuit of three screens in Katoomba, along with the Liberty in nearby Leura, and Victory in not too far away Blackheath. Business declined with the arrival of TV a few years later, and all theaters were gradually sold off. (Eldest brother Les diversified into the motel business, then ran the Bondi Junction Plaza cinema in Sydney for many years).
