In early 1930 Sydney exhibitor E. L. (Ted) Betts took a sub-lease at Blackheath, and took on Leura as well in 1932. He was quick to install sound equipment at both venues. (Probably Markophone brand – a company with which he was involved). Blackheath was managed by Sidney (aka Don) Laws on behalf of Betts.
