I saw Dr. Zhivago and the blown up 70mm version of Gone with the Wind at the Rosna (Rose and Nathan). As a very young guy, I was overwhelmed. Around the corner was the Newport Theatre where I saw The Blue Max and The Bible. Up several blocks at the Riverview, I saw The Sound of Music, The Sand Pebbles, Far From the Madding Crowd, and Hello Dolly. Believe it or not, I still have the ticket stubs. The tickets back then had the name of the movie on them. Wow what a shame these places are closed. We are so lucky to have experienced going to a movie as a special event. I remember at the Levine theatres they served only fruit juice no soda.
