Simple shapes. Coloured light from concealed neon tubes. Beauty, and a sense of tasteful luxury at relatively small cost. The mural of Eros in Piccadilly Circus was on the stairwell wall under this dome. As an aside, an exact duplicate (not a copy) of the statue in London looms close overhead in the Art Gallery of South Australia, which has the largest collection of English art outside England. It can be admired to much better advantage there than can the one on top of the Shaftesbury Memorial.
