Costume design by Louis Kahan for the character ‘Hoffmann’, Act 2 in “Tales of Hoffmann”. Gouache on paper. Male figure wearing a deep mauve/pink cutaway frock coat, knee-high matching boots, and grey breeches. Title, upper left corner, signed, lower centre left. One material swatch attached to lower left: deep mulberry colour.
