Gaumont Palace Plymouth
Photograph taken prior to opening showing the original seating layout for the stalls, the stepped proscenium was lit by concealed lighting. Above the proscenium arch the triangular grilled decoration concealed the Compton organ chambers, the closed house curtains were operated by hand from the right side prompt corner so they could be operated independently for stage shows, whereas the screen curtains were controlled from the projection box. The front wooden steps were removed prior to public admittance.
