Palace Cinema High Wycombe
A 1932 photograph of the original Palace cinema with mock Tudor frontage which opened Saturday 2nd December 1922 showing silent films. In the foreground is Frogmoor Square and its once impressive Victorian fountain, which was opened in 1875 constructed from granite with stone embellishments. Three graduated granite basins allowed water to trickle down from the top into the bottom basin which also featured four large stone dolphins cascading water from their mouths into the pool. Sadly demolished and discarded at the beginning of WW2. The circular fountain base is now used as a flower bed.
