Ritz Cinema Harringay
Photograph taken opening day, showing view of auditorium left from front of circle. Here the front house curtains are open showing plain peach satin screen curtains closed well back from the front stage area. Main ceiling lighting is from dome lit from the outer rim, the wide circle seated 580 whilst the stalls held 1270. An almost identical designed auditorium was carried out for the Ritz cinema Neasden. Interestingly here at Harringay the splay wall fan motifs are featured on circle walls either side of an elaborate gilded ventilation grille panel. The Ritz Harringay was the fifth and final of five Ritz cinemas constructed by Leightons (Construction) Ltd of Potters Bar, with offices in Victoria Street London, Lowestoft and Leeds.
