The theatre needs a darker side wall paint, curtains that open and close plus color lights on the side lights, darker ceiling tiles and mainly new seats. Those old wooden seats are very uncomfortable and can tip over. The Edison Theatre could use some sort of neon/LED type marquee outside to let people know what is playing inside. The building was never a movie cinema to start with. The original Niles Theatre in Niles CA near Fremont CA burnt down. They have a great blow up photo of what the Niles Theatre neon marquee looked like at the entrance to the Edison auditorium. The Edison Theatre can project 35mm film along with 16mm movies and DCP. Nice lobby store with plenty of old movie DVD’s and books/mags/shirts for sale. Stop by If they are open for a short talking tour or catch a silent movie. Weekends are best. Bring a pillow for your seats. Thanks David for the photo.
