Dalkeith Picture Gardens 122 Stirling Highway, Nedlands, WA - The Picture Gardens that never opened.

The Picture Gardens on 122 Stirling Highway that never opened.

Located on Stirling Highway on the southwest corner of Louis Street. The Dalkeith Picture Gardens was built in the mid-1930’s next to a house bought by Robert Hatfield, but was never completed or opened after the Windsor Theatre and Gardens opened up the road.

The owner (Robert Hatfield) decided to sell the unfinished gardens site, and the gardens were turned into a dressmakers shop run by Robert Hatfield’s daughters.

The site was demolished (date unknown), and became the Peace Memorial Rose Garden.

Not to be confused with the other Dalkeith Picture Gardens at 81 Waratah Avenue, Dalkeith.
