Opened by Village Cinemas chain as the Golden Twin Cinema on 20th December 1975 with the World Premiere on “End Play” starring George Mallaby. It was designed by SMA Architects.
It later became the Bendigo Village Golden Twin and around 1993 a third screen was added and it was renamed Bendigo Cinemas in 1997 when it expanded to five screens. The Bendigo Cinemas is now a modern 7-sceen multiplex serving the gold mining town of Bendigo, north of Melbourne - Notes by Ken Roe
