🚂 A Steam Train Passes: The Untold Story 50 years on, the making of A Steam Train Passes is revealed in a brand-new documentary from Transport Heritage NSW and the National Film and Sound Archive. Filmed in secrecy during the steam ban of 1974, this iconic short, held in the NFSA’s collection, became Australia’s most beloved railway film - launching careers, preserving history, and cementing the legacy of locomotive 3801.
Now, more than 50 years later, hear from five of the original filmmakers who dared to challenge the end of steam, with exclusive insights from legendary director and producer George Miller.
