Paul Brennan writes - Sydney Australia April 1957 and TV has decimated audiences; the ancient LYRIC Theatre finds that changing programmes (no Sunday) twice a week and rounding up all the horror titles from the 40s which are about to be trashed by distributors and giving them a final city run keeps the doors open. See which titles you can recognise.

All those nitrate prints would be been burned by 1960. The Lyric closed in 1959 and re emerged as a luxury 70mm house with SPARTACUS.
