After being denied permission to build a drive-in theatre in Montreal after construction started in 1946, Michel Zahorchak (who later founded Canadian Theatres) packed up and moved to the St. Catharines area and opened the Canadian Drive-In on July 17, 1947. It was closed on October 7, 1982.
It reopened on October 8, 1982 as the 4 Can-View Drive-In, which is largest drive-in in Ontario and now has four screens and holds 2,015 cars.
Later taken over by Odeon Theatres (Canada) Ltd. In 2023 it was taken over by the Premier Drive-In Theatres Operating Corporation and renamed Skyway Drive-In.
