Photograph of the new auditorium as designed and decorated by Mollo & Egan. Even this early Mollo used his design to omit any light fittings, all lighting was concealed. The auditorium was finished in cream Marb-L-Cote and stippled in shell pink. Screen curtains were made of cream silk, framed by old gold curtains either side with a moss green festooned pelmet. To the right of the orchestra pit in its lowered position is the top of the newly installed Compton organ complete with illuminated console. The splay walls either side featured modern display panels that enclosed three sections. The central grille had the design finished in gold which concealed the organ chamber and ventilation shafts, either side were lighting panels which were lit from behind coving at the base and sides. Also below coved lighting lit the side aisles exits and above in raised apertures a clock and speaker grille for organist announcements.
