The Lake Drive-In was opened on June 23, 1949 with Betty Grable in “When My Baby Smiles at Me”. It was operated by Lionel Semon, who also operated the slightly larger Pueblo Drive-In which had opened in 1948. It was located at Lake Avenue and Maryland Avenue (today known as W. Pueblo Boulevard).

The Lake Drive-In closed in 1988 and was demolished several years later. The property has not been redeveloped - Notes by Ken McIntyre
