Menora Theatre 362 Walcott Street, Menora, WA - All that remains of the unique multi coloured chess board ceiling today.
Photo - Courtesy of the Machlin family
Description - The ceiling (pictured) is the original ceiling from the Menora indoor cinema, and I believe it still exists as such today. (Note: Originally the lighting was indirect, however in the subsequent years after closing, fluorescent lighting has been added for various purposes)
The plaster mould ceiling is fashioned in the shape of a chess board, displaying squares of various colours. Celebrated theatrical architect Samuel B. Rosenthal designed the building and the unique ceiling.
