Loop Theater
Two blocks away was the White Star Hotel - a sort of competitor to the Loop Theatre - as stories of the day had Loop patrons deciding between a night at the Detroit or Howard Street rescue missions, the Loop Theatre (at 15 cents), or the Taylor or - here - the White Star Hotel offering rooms for 50 cents a night. Like the Loop, the picture at right in 1963 shows the fate of the Hotel - similar to that of Corktown, Skid Row, and Chinatown.
