TRIBUTE - The attached pic shows long time resident organist Mr Les Richmond at the famous Wurlitzer centre stage at the Regent.
The organ was moved to centre stage during the war years where it would rise majestically as if by magic to entertain patrons during intervals. The organ remained at the Regent up until 1964. It was sold and remained in private hands in New South Wales up until 2004 when it was returned to Queensland. It now resides in the Australian Cinematheque (Cinema A) in the Gallery of Modern Art at South Bank. - Notes by Ross Palm
