David Coppock writes - on August 27, 2022 - Sturt Drive-In Located in Gumly Gumly (a suburb of Wagga Wagga). Original manager was Mr Douglas Cook.
Construction of the screen for Wagga’s (Sturt) Drive In Theatre almost complete. At the top it was 89 feet (25.9M) from the ground, the screen was 100 x 48 feet (30.48 x 14.63M). The theatre was built at a cost of 80,000 pounds on a 15 acre site with H C Buckman & Son the principal builder. It officially opened Wednesday 11th February,1959 with a screening of the Hollywood classic “How To Marry A Millionaire”.
