Rex Theatre 127 Rundle Mall, Adelaide, SA
Notes & photo courtesy of Adelaide Old Days
The Rex Theatre provided popular cinema entertainment. Adelaide Arcade was already an established feature of the city’s retail landscape. At this time, Rundle Street was still open to traffic and had not yet become the pedestrian mall known today.
The photograph preserves the streetscape before major redevelopment transformed the area. It offers a valuable glimpse into Adelaide’s commercial heart during the early 1960s.
