The Park Theatre launched on March 6, 1950 with Gene Kelly in “On The Town” (unknown if extras added). On grand opening, then-Mayor George Mathieson and Air Vice and the Chair of the Goderich Board of Trade Marshall Sully made special addresses before assisting local theater pioneer H.J. Sutherland in cutting the ribbon.
