May Wynn was the name of a character in “The Caine Mutiny.” The actress liked the name so we persuaded the producer, Stanley Kramer to let her use the name as her credit for the film. For the rest of her acting career (which was very short, it ended in 1960), she used the name ‘May Wynn.’ Source: San Jose Mercury-News, December 4, 1955
