Above photograph shows the front entrance of the Regent in September 1930. The flags, streamers and crowds await the arrival of the stars and Monty Banks for the opening of his new film ‘Almost A Honeymoon’ in September 1930. Also in view is the original Regent Theatre stained glass semi circular entrance canopy. This was to be Architect John Owen Bond’s first foray into designing a cinema, in partnership with George Duncan Fitt.
