The St James closed on Saturday 20 March 1971. An auction of fittings and memorabilia was held five days later. Final manager of the theater was Peter Allen who remained in that role until 31 March. Shown here is an empty Elizabeth Street entrance lobby with stairs leading up to the Dress Circle foyer. Stairs on right lead down to Stalls level.
