Cliff Queen Theater
On Oct. 14, 1944, Dallas' fire chief padlocks the Cliff-Queen for failure to correct fire hazards. Veteran owner L.L. Dunbar cites WWII for material shortages that prolongs the closure but he re-opened the theater in time for Christmas that year after correcting the problems. Dunbar would sell the theater to Gene Autry Enterprises less than two years later.
