Cecil Theatre
A ground-level photo of the derelict shell of the Cecil. It’s pre-1953 (the year of its demolition) and the Austin A40 Somerset turning right in the junction went on sale in 1952.
The photographer is standing where the new Cecil would be built.
The image is from the website of Hull Museums Collection (which gives download instructions).

Wonderful! My earliest memory is my mother taking me in my pram(aged 3) to watch the demolition. I wanted to sit there for hours. Huge metal balls suspended from cranes were swung at the walls. Phil Wheatley
