Regal Cinema
Aerial photos in 1929 (no month given) capture the Regal being built. The stage/screen end is yet to be erected.
The right hand photo shows the gaping proscenium opening with the sun shining in on the front stalls area. The huge Regal is next to a smaller, older, public hall on the left. The pages with Llanelly (sic) in my copy of KYB 1914 are missing so I have no lead to identify that Edwardian (?) hall which had its entrance on Old Castle Road.

The old small midget next to the new huge Regal was the Popular Cinema (previously White Cinema; and Electric Theatre prior to that). It’s all reminiscent of “The Smallest Show On Earth”!
