UA Tyler Mall Cinema-Riverside, 1979
United Artists Theatres' first multiplex in Southern California - the UA Cinema-Riverside - positioned on the outside of Tyler Mall. Opening along with the rest of the mall in 1970, UA Tyler Mall was originally a twin-theatre complex. However, it expanded to a fourplex in 1974. Pictured here in 1979, the theatre in its heyday screened cinematic blockbusters as well as featured cult classics like “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” for its midnight movies on Fridays and Saturdays. The mall was renamed Galleria at Tyler several years later while the UA was still a tenant.
