The 1922 uncovering of King Tut’s tomb ignited a worldwide interest in ancient Egypt. Many ambitious architects of the time capitalized on the newly popular style by incorporating hieroglyphics and multi-colored Egyptian interior design into their latest movie palaces. The exteriors were often erected to look like ancient Egyptian temples and buildings.
