Englewood Theatre

I was so pleased to find this picture of the Sears store. I was in that store so many times as a child. That’s 60 years ago. I got my first bicycle there.I lived a few blocks from there on 63rd. St.right across the street from the “L” tracks. I also remember the spectacular Englewood Theater. It had a fill size carousel in one of its many sections. The waterfall and pond when you entered the huge marble lobby…popcorn was a dime. I would hate to see it now…I’m sure it has fallen on bad times. Nobody today would take the time to keep up such a splendid theater. Not sure most of the movies today would deserve to be shown there. It’s way too classy. I wish there were pictures of the inside.
