A time capsule buried in December 19, 1966 says not to open it until December of 2016 at the Lakewood Shopping Center Theatre. Manager Charlie Lewis was there when it was planted under an 800-pound slab of concrete.
A reclamation business, the Scrap Exchange, purchased the former Center Theater building in 2013 and on December 19, 2016, opened the capsule. More than 500 people showed up to the ceremony including Lewis who came from Texas.
