My grandparents, Boyd and Kitty Thompson, operated The Tobacco Mart once located at 1519 Elm and a cafe (Eats) next door at 1517 Elm on the former Mirror Theater lot in the 1940s-1950s. These two establishments were divided by a narrow walk through (visible) which accessed the rear parking lot.
